Our Plans and Our Results for Twin Lakes

  • Stewards of Twin Lakes: A Year of Impact and Growth (2024–2025)

In just our first full year as a nonprofit, the Stewards of Twin Lakes have transformed our community’s approach to protecting and preserving the Twin Lakes Watershed. Incorporated in February 2024 as a 501(c)(3) and officially certified as a Pennsylvania Charitable Organization, we set ambitious strategic goals—and the results speak for themselves.

Working hand‑in‑hand with partners like the Pike County Conservation District, the Penn State Master Watershed Steward Program, and other leading environmental organizations, we have delivered tangible improvements to water quality, community engagement, and lake stewardship.

    Our Strategic Plan in Action

Tactical initiatives launched: Educational programs for all ages, on‑the‑ground remediation projects, and expanded community outreach.

Results achieved: Reduced runoff and sedimentation, heightened awareness of invasive species, increased volunteer participation, and strengthened partnerships.

A model for collaboration: Recognition by state and regional partners for bringing together homeowners, local leaders, and conservation experts to protect Twin Lakes.

    Why It Matters

Our lakes are the heart of our community, and the work we’ve done together over the past year will have lasting benefits for generations. But the story doesn’t stop here—our strategic plan has set the stage for even greater impact ahead.

  • Carrying Our Momentum into 2025–2026

The Stewards of Twin Lakes have accomplished a great deal in a short time—but we are only just getting started. Building on the strategic foundation we laid in 2024–2025, we are poised to take our work to an entirely new level in the coming year.

Our focus for 2025–2026 will be to expand the depth and reach of our programs, ensuring even greater impact on the Twin Lakes Watershed and the community we serve. This means:

Scaling up successful initiatives in runoff remediation, invasive species management, and lake‑friendly living education.

Launching new partnerships with conservation groups, local government, and academic institutions to bring additional resources and expertise to our work.

Engaging more volunteers and community members than ever before, empowering everyone to take part in protecting our lakes.

Strengthening long‑term sustainability by diversifying funding sources and building capacity as a growing 501(c)(3).

We know the challenges facing our lakes are complex, but we also know what’s possible when people come together with a shared vision. The momentum we’ve created is real—and the next chapter will be our most impactful yet.

Stay connected and help us bring our mission to life in 2025–2026.
