Curly-Leaf Pondweed Webinar Aug 13th: A Growing Threat to Twin Lakes — What You Need to Know and Do

Curly-leaf pondweed has taken hold in Twin Lakes. It firmly established itself in the small lake several years ago — and now it’s on the move, spreading into the big lake despite some efforts to contain it.

Aquatic invasive plants are more than just an inconvenience. They cloud the water, harm native plants and fish, disrupt recreation like boating and swimming, and can even lower property values. If we don’t act, these threats will only grow — and the beauty and health of Twin Lakes as we know it could be lost.

That’s why we’re bringing in expert voices to help us understand what’s happening and, more importantly, what we can do about it. Speakers with be from Pennsylvania Sea-Grant. Pennsylvania Sea Grant is part of a national program established by the U.S. Congress. Its mission is to enhance the conservation of natural resources, for a more healthy environment.

Join our special webinar to learn:

  • How curly-leaf pondweed and other invasives arrived and why they’re thriving here

  • The severe problems they create for our lakes and community

  • How to spot and correctly identify these species before they spread further

  • Concrete steps you can take now to help stop their advance and support long-term remediation efforts

The webinar will wrap up with a live Q&A session, giving you a chance to ask your pressing questions about the challenges facing Twin Lakes.

Our lakes are at a tipping point. This is your chance to be part of the solution — to protect the water, natural beauty, and recreational life we all cherish.

6-6:45pm on Wednesday August 13th
